The standard butyl material has been replaced by TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane), an advanced plastic characterized by increased flexibility and mechanical strength. The result is an inner tube that is up to 70% lighter, has a volume 50% smaller (when folded) than its butyl counterpart while having greater puncture resistance.
